Lisa Sledd, LMFT (She/Her/Hers)
Lisa earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. She has a diverse background in both private practice and non-profit settings, where she supports individuals, couples, and families. Lisa utilizes evidence based therapy approaches such as EMDR, RODBT, mindfulness techniques, and skills from DBT, EFT, and PACT to help clients achieve self-acceptance. Lisa is also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (aka Tapping) which targets points similar to those used in acupuncture and can help manage difficult emotions. She is LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodiversity affirming. Lisa works with couples navigating life transitions, divorce, neurodiversity, and high conflict. She approaches family therapy with a focus on fostering open communication, and working towards shared goals. Her family therapy practice uses techniques such as structural family therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and attachment-based therapy. Before becoming a therapist, Lisa worked as a molecular biologist. Her scientific background influences how she views the world, including her approach to therapy. Because of this, she prefers evidence-based models and works collaboratively with clients to achieve positive change in their lives. Outside of work, she enjoys creating art, particularly ceramics, as well as running, biking, lifting weights, going to the beach, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family. Lisa is licensed to provide therapy in Texas and California. Areas of Expertise:
