About the CEU:
We all have clients who engage in pushbacks and don't hurt me reesponses. They are often hard to identify (is that just a reasonable boundary? Oh no, did I trigger my client?!) and even harder to call clients out on. This is because these push away behaviors have whats called plausible deniability. The combination of this plausible deniability with the rigidity that overcontrolled clients present with can make this even more challenging. Whether your clients are overcontrolled or not push away behaviors are probably occurring! RODBT teaches us how to deal with pushbacks and don't hurt me responses, and how to teach our clients to identify and deal with their own push away behaviors.
CEU Objectives:
The participant will be able to:
1. Identify when a client is doing a push back or don't hurt me in or outside of session.
2. Teach their clients about how to work on their own push away behaviors.
3. Intervene with clients doing push away behaviors in session .
About the presenter:
Rachel received her masters in social work from UT Austin and has been a practicing therapist in Austin for over a decade. Rachel created and facilitated the first RODBT IOP in the state of Texas and is the first intensively trained RODBT clinician in Austin. Rachel currently runs several RODBT skills groups and does individual RODBT as well. Rachel is also Gottman Certified and specializes in working with couples where one or both partners may be overcontrolled or have OCPD traits.
