In 2017, Shawn completed his Master's in Social Work at the University of Waterloo in Canada. For over a decade, he has been assisting children, youth, and families dealing with mental health and addiction issues. One of Shawn's most fulfilling therapeutic approaches is Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT serves as a guide, helping people navigate the challenges of life. It teaches us to accept our thoughts and emotions without judgment. By aligning with our core values, ACT empowers us to take meaningful actions that lead to personal growth and a stronger sense of purpose. It's like having a toolkit for navigating life's twists and turns with resilience and authenticity. Shawn has also worked with the LGBTQ+ community and has conducted readiness hormone and surgical assessments for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Shawn creates a secure and non-judgmental environment for his clients to explore their goals and advocate for themselves. With supportive and educational interventions, Shawn helps clients achieve their self-identified goals and attain positive outcomes.
